Roy is rated as one of the finest wing forwards that ever played in Canada. As the only Canadian player he was picked for all three international games for Canada against the United States in 1925 and 1926.

Robert Faulkner was born in 1897 in Paisley, Scotland. He played junior soccer for St. Anthony’s and Maryhill in Glasgow. In October 1919 he signed for Blackburn Rovers and played in nine games for them. He then played for Queens Park Rangers for three seasons and South Shields for one season.

In 1922 Roy moved to Toronto to play for the Caledonians. After a season with the Caley’s he moved to the A.R. Clarke team. After two good seasons with the Clarke’s in the Inter-Provincial League he moved to Philadelphia F.C. in the American Soccer League in January 1926.

Picked for the Canadian team that played what was said to be their first international game against the United States in June 1925. Canada won the game 1-0. Also played for Canada twice in 1926 against the United States.

Joined Ulster United in 1926 and starred for them in the 1926 and 1927 National Soccer League seasons.
