Franco (Frank) Rosati was one of the leading goalscorers in Canadian soccer during the 1960’s. He was the leading goalcorer in the 1962 NSL season.

Franco Rosati was born in Italy on June 6, 1941. After emigrating to Canada he settled in Toronto.

Frank was the leading goalscorer in the National Soccer League in the 1962 season. On August 3, 1962, Frank scored all three goals for Italian Virtus in their 3-2 victory over Toronto Macedonia. He followed this up with scoring both Italian Virtus goals in a 2-2 draw with Toronto Croatia on August 19.

In the 1963 season Frank was again among the leading goalscorers in the NSL while playing for Italian Virtus.

In May 1964 Frank made his debut for Toronto City in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League.

In 1965 he was one of nine Torontians who joined Sudbury Italia Flyers. The Flyers had won the Canadian Championship in 1964 and were new members of the NSL in 1965. In the 1965 Sudbury Italia media guide Frank is described as having “lightning speed and ability to shoot with either foot”.

In 1966 the centre forward joined Toronto Roma in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. He scored ten goals in the league that season.

On Wednesday September 7, 1966, Frank scored both goals as Toronto Roma defeated Toronto Falcons 2-0. The victory meant that Roma won the best-of-three game Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League playoff championship in two straight games. The game was watched by 2,043 fans.

After the collapse of the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League in the fall of 1966, Toronto Roma joined the National Soccer League for the 1967 season. On June 1 Frank scored four goals to help Roma win 5-0 over Toronto Olympia-Harmony. His goals throughout the season helped Roma qualify for the championship playoffs.

On June 13, 1967 Frank was a guest player for Rochester Lancers in their exhibition game against Chelsea Football Club. The touring English team won 6-1 in front of 6,312 fans at Aquinas Stadium in Rochester.

In 1968 he returned to Sudbury Italia and helped them to win the NSL championship.
