Percival Edmund Manuel was born in Wantage, Berkshire, England, on February 21, 1909.
Percy emigrated to Canada in 1925 and first made his mark in soccer with the Toronto Transportation Company Football Club in the late 1920’s.
In the early 1930’s he returned to England to play soccer. He played for Marlborough Town and Oxford City in England. He spent the winter of 1933-34 playing for Swindon Town. He played in one game in the Third Division Cup for Swindon that season. During the season he was loaned out to Trowbridge Town.
In the 1934-35 season he scored 15 goals for Stourbridge and was given a trial by Wrexham’s reserve team. After two reserve games he signed for Wrexham in April 1935.
Percy played two league games for Wrexham in the Northern section of the English Football League Third Division in the 1934-35 season.
In May 1935 he joined Montreal Carsteel. The Montreal Gazette described is debut with the Carsteel team as “auspicious”.
On June 13, 1935, he played for the Montreal All-Stars against the touring Scottish Football Association team. The Scottish F.A. team won 3-0.
In 1936 he was reinstated as an amateur by the Dominion Football Association. Percy later returned to England and played for Marlborough Town. He then returned to Ontario. Percy died in Vancouver, British Columbia, on August 15, 1983.
