Edward Brown Throckmorton Waring was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in September 1911. He immigrated to Canada in 1928.

Edddie was a sports writer for Globe and Mail in Toronto for 32 years. He retired in 1977.

Eddie was known for his Irish accent, hailing from the Falls Road area in Belfast. He was also involved in radio broadcasting of soccer games and news.

Eddie passed away at the age of 71, after a short illness, on March 5, 1982.
