Inside forward Joao Jorge Constantino was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 28, 1936. He started his career with Palmeiras in the Campeonato Paulista. He later played for the America de Rio Preto club in Sao Paulo.

In April 1961 he joined Montreal Concordia in the National Soccer League. The club also competed in the International Soccer League that was organised by Bill Cox. Joao scored 12 goals in the NSL during the 1961 season.

He also won the 1961 Canadian Challenge Trophy with Concordia. The club lifted the trophy after defeating Vancouver Firefighters 1-0 in the final. Joao scored Concordia’s goal after seven minutes of the first half.

Joao spent the 1962-63 season with Real Oviedo in Spain. He played in 12 games and scored 4 goals in the Segunda Division.
