Audax Italiano was founded in La Florida, Chile, in 1910. The club was composed mostly of Italian-born Chileans or Chileans of Italian parentage. In 1933 the club went on an extensive tour of South America, Latin America and North America. The club left Chile in January 1933 on what was planned to be a world tour.
They had toured through Peru, Mexico, Central America and Cuba before coming to the United States in September 1933. In forty games they had won thirty-one, tied four and lost one during their tour in South and Latin America. While in Cuba a revolution broke out and the team had to rush to get out of the country. Led by the Chilean ambassador to Cuba the team arrived in Miami on September 10, three days later than planned. The club arrived with a squad of 22 players. The club was managed by Guido de Rolland. President of the club was Jose Ghiardo.
After touring Canada and the United States the plan was to continue playing exhibition games in Europe, Russia, Japan, China, Straits Settlements, Phillippines and Hawaiian islands.
On September 16 they played against a picked team from the Wisconsin State League.
On September 17 they defeated Chicago Sparta 2-0 in front of 4,000 fans at Sparta Stadium in Chicago.
They followed up with a match against the Illinois State League All-Stars. On September 24 they played against the Chicago National Soccer League All-Stars

The exhibition game against Ulster United on Monday night October 16 in Toronto ended in a free for all and ended without a decision being reached. The Chilean team was leading 2-0 when fans and players ended up fighting each other. Audax right fullback Fisher received a gash on the hand.
