In the summer of 1955 Huddersfield Town went on an extensive tour of North America. On May 18, 1955, they played against the picked team of the Hamilton & District. 5,000 soccer fans watched the English first division team beat Hamilton 7-1 at Civic Stadium in Hamilton.
