Cyril Davies was born in Wales. He started his soccer career in junior soccer in Wales and was selected as a reserve for the Welsh Schoolboy National Team.
When he arrived in Canada he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs soccer team that were members of the National Soccer League.
He then went to Northern Ontario when soccer was thriving in the mining districts during the late 1930’s. Cy played for the McIntyre Mines and Timmins during his time in the northern part of Ontario.
Cy spent five years in the Army during the second World War and was selected on a number of Army Selects sides.
The 5’10” and 180 lbs left back joined Ulster United in 1945. He won the Dominion Championship with Ulster United in 1946.
He played for Ulster United in the exhibition game against Liverpool Football Club on June 15, 1948. 17,000 soccer fans watched Liverpool win 5-1 at Maple Leaf Stadium in Toronto.
