George Munro was born in Scotland. He started his soccer career with Elgin City in Scotland in 1919. He later transferred to Barrow-in-Furness before he emigrated to Canada.
The right half spent six years with Hamilton Thistles. He helped Thistles qualify for the Dominion finals in 1930.
He then moved to Frood Mines in Northern Ontario in 1931. He was the captain of Frood Mines in 1932.
