Edward Wacyk was born on September 26, 1925 in Poland. At the young age of 14 he joined the Polish Army and saw active service during World War II. After the war he was stationed in England. He emigrated to Canada in 1948 and settled in Toronto.

Edward was one of several people of Polish ethnicity who formed the Sports Club White Eagles in Toronto in 1949. After being members of the Metro League and the Senior League the White Eagles joined the National Soccer League before the start of the 1952 season.

In the mid-1950’s the Polish club was one of the strongest in the National Soccer League. In 1955 they reached the NSL playoff final but lost to Ulster United. Playing at half-back Edward was a member of the White Eagles team that won the NSL league and playoff championships in the 1956 season.

After suffering an injury in 1957 Edward played mostly with the White Eagles’ reserve team.

Edward passed away at the age of 95 on August 03, 2021 in Toronto.
