Giovanni Bincoletto was born in 1925 in San Donà di Piave in Italy. Giovanni started his professional soccer career with Serie C club Associazione Calcio San Donà when World War II ended. He remained with A. C. San Donà until he emigrated to Canada in 1951.

The centre halfback settled in Montreal and joined the local Italia club in the Montreal League. Helped by importations from Italy the Montreal Italia club quickly became one of the strongest teams in Canada. In local soccer the club went through a four-year period where they remained unbeaten in 104 games in a row. During this period the club changed its name to Cantalia. In 1957 Cantalia won the regular season Eastern Division championship in the National Soccer League.

Giovanni represented the Montreal All-Stars on many occasions. He later became a soccer coach. In 1962 he was Cantalia’s coach in the Quebec-based National Soccer League.

Giovanni passed away at the age of 87 on October 22, 2012, in Edmonton, Alberta.
