Kilmarnock Football Club won the Scottish Cup in the 1928-1929 season. In the summer of 1930 they undertook a heavy tour of Canada and United States.

The visitors were leading 1-0 at half-time. The heavy exhibition schedule looked to be taking its toll in the second half when Kilmarnock let in a goal after eight minutes.

Close to the final minutes of the match a Brantford player kicked the ball into his own net.
