Gino Di Florio was born in Raviscania, Italy, on September 18, 1964. He came to Canada with his family at an early age. Gino first made his mark in soccer at George Harvey High School in Toronto.

He was drafted by Toronto Blizzard in the third round of the NASL Draft in December 1982.

In the 1983 National Soccer League season Gino helped Toronto Italia win the NSL Cup.

In October 1983 he signed an amateur contract with Cleveland Force in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He spent the 1983-1984 season with Cleveland Force’s reserve squad.

Gino played in one playoff game during the 1984-1985 MISL season for the Cleveland Force.

In the 1985-1986 season he played in 23 MISL games and scored one goal for Cleveland Force. He had one game winning goal.

In the 1986-1987 Major Indoor Soccer League season Gino played in all 52 Cleveland Force regular season games and scored 33 goals. This included five game winning goals.

In the 1987-1988 MISL season he played in 53 regular season games and scored 22 goals.

He spent the summer of 1988 playing in the Canadian Soccer League for Toronto Blizzard.

In October 1988 Gino joined MISL club Dallas Sidekicks.

Gino played with Cleveland in the 1991-1992 Major Soccer League season.

He played for Toronto Blizzard in the 1992 Canadian Soccer League season.
