Bio:
Alan played for Yorkshire Schoolboys. He was also a youth sprint champion and had done the 100 yards 10,1 seconds.
He joined Leeds United’s ground staff at the age of 15. Played for Leeds United’s Central League side in the 1959-1960 season. Given a free transfer by Leeds United in May 1960.
In the end of May 1960 he signed on professional forms for Lincoln City. While playing for Leeds United he had been spotted by Lincoln City’s chief scout Alf Young. He reported to training at Sincil Bank together with the other Lincoln City players on July 19, 1960. Spent the 1960-1961 season playing for reserve team in the
Joined Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League club Toronto City in May 1961.
Signed for Gainsborough Trinity from Barnsley in December 1961. Returned to Toronto on Monday 30 April 1962 to play for Toronto City.
Joined Hartford Soccer Club in September 1964.
Captain of American Soccer League club Hartford Soccer Club in the 1965-1966 American Soccer League season.
