Bio:
Known as Taffy. From Dinas Powis, near Cardiff. Signed for Newport County at the age of 15.
Said to have played in three Welsh junior internationals, against England, Ireland and Scotland.
In 1961 the 19-year old joined Toronto City in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. He arrived at Malton Airport in Toronto on Thursday 11 May 1961.
Ambrose made his debut against Toronto Italia on 20 May in front of a crowd of 16,509 soccer fans at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. He scored one of City’s goals as they lost 2-3 against Italia.

Scored four goals in Toronto City’s 7-1 victory over B.C. All-Stars.
On June 22 Ambrose scored both goals as City defeated the famous French club Stade de Reims 2-1.
Had a two-month trial with Bristol City from November 1961.
Also said to have played for clubs in New York and Chicago.
In October 1963 he joined Scottish League club Morton on a one-month trial. In November 1963 it was extended by one more month.
Had a two-week trial with Notts County in January 1964. Played for Notts County Reserves against Plymouth Argyle Reserves on Saturday 25 January 1964.
Moved to Australia and joined Melbourne club Footscray J.U.S.T.
