Signed by Linfield player coach Jackie Milburn in 1957. Played mostly for Linfield Swifts and Linfield Rangers.
Emigrated to Canada in 1960. Signed for Pacific Coast Soccer League club Vancouver St. Andrews on Tuesday 27 September 1960.
Received an offer from Toronto City in May 1962. Arrived in Toronto on Thursday 21 June 1962.
Made his debut in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League against Toronto Roma on Saturday 23 June 1962.
Returned to Northern Ireland in July 1962 and signed for Portadown.
He was released by Portadown in November 1963.
Died at the Southern Area Hospice in Newry in May 2016.
