Joined Scottish First Division club Hibernian in 1957 from Loanhead Mayflower.
Made his Scottish League debut against Celtic on 29 November 1958.
Signed by Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League club Toronto City in April 1962 as a centre-half. Helped Toronto City to a second-place finish in the final standings in the 1962 ECPSL season.
Returned to Scotland and joined St. Johnstone in September 1962.
Played for the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League All-Stars against Scottish touring club Heart of Midlothian in an exhibition game on June 5, 1964. In front of a crowd of 6,032 Hearts won 2-0.
Selected by the managers in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League to the first team of the ECPSL All-Star team as a centre-half after the 1964 season.
