In the summer of 1971 Polish Ekstraklasa club Wisla Krakow toured North America.

On Wednesday night July 21 they played against the Toronto Metros “Select” team. The team was a mix of players from the Metros North American Soccer League team, the National Soccer League and the Toronto & District Soccer League.

A crowd of 6,832 watched Kazimierz Kmercik and Ryizard Sarnat score to secure a 2-0 victory for the visiting club from Poland.

With this win Wisla completed their seven-game tour having won four games and tied three.

Wisla Krakow defender Tadeusz Polak would later go on to play in the North American Soccer League and the National Soccer League.
