Bio:
Willie first made his name in soccer with Arniston Rangers in the Edinburgh & District League. In November 1959 he was signed by Scottish First Division club Hibernian. He was given a free transfer by Hibernian after the 1961-1962.
Late in April 1962 Willie accepted an offer from Toronto City’s player-coach Tommy Younger to play in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. He left Scotland on 2 May 1962 on a flight to Montreal, Canada, to join Toronto City. Willie helped City to a second place finish in the final standings in the 1962 Eastern Professional Soccer League.
He then returned to Scotland and signed for Scottish First Division club Raith Rovers on 19 August 1962.
Willie returned to Canada to play for Toronto City in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League in 1963.
In September 1964 Bill signed for American Soccer League club Hartford Soccer Club.
