Bio:

Mario started his career with the St. Thomas Aquinas club before progressing to Toronto Italia’s “B” team.

He was promoted to Italia’s first team in 1963. He was the back-up for former Northern Ireland Goalkeeper of the Year Roy Rea.

In the 1966 season he was the back-up goalkeeper for Toronto Italia in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. The club’s first-choice goalkeeper was former Aston Villa goalie Nigel Sims.

In the 1969 season he played for the re-formed Toronto Italia club in the National Soccer League.

Before the start of the 1970 National Soccer League season Mario joined Toronto Hungaria.

He later became a youth coach.

Mario passed away in 2003 in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 58.
