On Monday night 20 September 1965 Eastern Canada Professional League club Montreal Italica hosted Israel’s Hapoel Petah-Tikvah club.
Italica borrowed three players from Toronto Roma. Carmine Carella, who had starred for Italica against Independiente in August 1965, winger Dave Demaine and inside forward Ron Clayton.
The game kicked off at 8.15 at Molson Stadium in Montreal.
The half-time score was 0-0.
15 minutes into the second-half Alan Bristowe put the ball past Hapoel goalkeeper Michel Shenfeld for the winning goal.
