Scottish-born striker who grew up in British Columbia, Canada.
On 29 November 1979 Billy signed a 1980 tryout contract with Edmonton Drillers. 18 years old at the time.
Played briefly for the Calgary Outlaws in the summer of 1980.
Played for the Edmonton Drillers reserve team in 1980. Released by Edmonton Drillers in January 1981.
Then played for Langley Athletics in the Pacific Coast Soccer League.
Signed for Canadian Professional Soccer League club Edmonton Eagles in April 1983.
Played in the Pacific Rim Soccer League in the 1984-1985 season with Vancouver Columbus Italia.
Joined Canadian Soccer League club Winnipeg Fury in July 1987.
