Vangelis Syrigos first made his mark in Greek soccer with Aigaleo Athinas.
In April 1975 he joined National Soccer League Second Division club Windsor Stars. In Canada he was known as Dimitrios Sirigos.
He made his debut for Windsor Stars in their opening game in the NSL on 4 May 1975. 1800 soccer fans turned up for the game at Windsor Stadium. Returned to his club in Greece in October 1975. During the 1975 season he played in 30 games and let in only 22 goals. Voted as the leading goalkeeper in the National Soccer League Second Division in the 1975 season.
In March 1976 it was announced by Windsor Stars that he would not be returning for the 1976 season.
In June 1977 he rejoined the Windsor Stars who was now playing in the National Soccer League’s First Division. Returned to Greece in the middle of of August 1977 to play for Aigaleo Athinas.
On Friday night 2 June 1978 he returned to Windsor, and played for the Stars in exhibition game against North American Soccer League club Detroit Express the following day. Returned to Greece on Friday 4 August 1978.
