Son of Troon Athletic and Partick Thistle legend “big” Alec Lambie.

Signed for Ipswich Town in August 1946. Released to Troon Juniors in July 1947.

Played for Aberdeen Reserves in the 1947-1948 season. Signed for Aberdeen in January 1948.

Played for National Soccer League club Hamilton Westinghouse in the 1948 season.

Returned to the Old Country in the summer of 1948. Signed for Scottish Second Division club Kilmarnock in September 1948.

Signed for Kilmarnock in March 1950.
