England internationalist Les Medley is still considered to be one of the best players to have ever played in Canada.
Marc Tirikian set goalscoring records at Kalamazoo College in 1984 and 1985. After trying his luck in French soccer, Marc joined Windsor Wheels and was the 1987 NSL leading goalscorer.
Alex Shaw played in the Football League and the Scottish League before coming to Canada in 1951. In Canada he played for Toronto St. Andrews, Toronto Thistles and Ulster United. In 1957 he was picked for Canada’s National Team.
At the end of the 1950’s and at the start of the 1960’s Bob Kelly was rated as the best centre half in Canada. He starred for Ulster United and Toronto Italia in the NSL.
Jack Allister won the Scottish League Championship with Aberdeen in the 1954-55 season. In 1959 he had a short spell with Hamilton Italo-Canadians in the National Soccer League.
