CLUBS: MCKINNONS FOOTBALL CLUB

The works team of McKinnon Industries Ltd. The company was located at 257-259 Ontario Street in St. Catharines, Ontario. The company produced hardware and tools.

McKinnon’s were members of the St. Kitts League in 1912.

The soccer club played in the St. Catharines and District League in the 1920 and 1921 seasons.

The McKinnon’s won the St. Catharines and Frontier Soccer League championship and reached the semi-finals of the Ontario Cup in 1922.

The McKinnon’s played in the St. Catharines and District Soccer League in the 1923 season. In the league playoff final they lost to MacKenzies of Niagara Falls.

In the 1924 season they played in the St. Catharines & District League.

They were members of the National Soccer League in the 1929 season.

In the 1935 season they lost the Snyder Cup final to Cataracts by a total-goals score of 1 to 4.

McKinnon’s qualified for the 1936 Tim and Mac Cup final by beating Empire Cottons of Welland 4-0. In the final they met Welland Atlas Steels.

Joined the Welland and District Industrial Soccer League before the start of 1937 season. They later became members of the Hamilton City Soccer League.
