HAMILTON STELCO

The works team of the Steel Co. of Canada Ltd. factory that was located in Hamilton, Ontario.

Formed in the 1920’s.

Stelco won the Hamilton Spectator in 1923 and 1937. They were losing finalists in the 1938 and 1939 seasons.

After playing in the Hamilton & District League they joined the National Soccer League before the start of the 1940 season.

One the most famous players to player for Stelcos was Alfred Briggs in the early 1920’s. Alf had played for Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish League before coming to Canada.
