MIC MAC PARK, WINDSOR

Mic Mac Park is located on 1125 Prince Road in Windsor, Ontario. The park was opened in 1930.

In 1975 a new soccer field was opened in Mic Mac Park. In 1976 the Essex-Kent Soccer League started to use the field for their league games.

In 1977 Windsor Stars started to use Mic Mac Park Stadium as their home field. On April 21, 1977 the Windsor Star newspaper reported that the city’s parks department had upgraded the soccer field in the park. It now had bleachers that seated close to 3,500, lights and crowd-control fences.

The opening game was played between Windsor Stars and Toronto Croatia on Sunday April 24, 1977. Windsor Stars won 3-1 in front of close to 1,000 fans.

Due to low crowds Windsor Stars decided to return to Windsor Stadium in June 1977, this as Mic Mac Park was considered to be difficult to travel to for fans.

Mic Mac Park still has soccer fields that are in use.
