In 1977 a National Soccer League franchise was awarded to Mississauga Hungaria. The club used St. Lawrence Starch Stadium for their home games.
The stadium was really the St. Lawrence Starch Field that was located off Lakeshore Road. The field belonged to the St. Lawrence Starch Company. It had no lights and only a chain link fence surrounding it.
Mississauga Hungaria was usually watched by 30-50 fans. The club left the league after the 1977 season and was replaced by Mississauga Soccer Club. Mississauga SC used the field in the 1978 NSL season.
