Review of the season
The opening games of the 1966 Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League season were played in Montreal and Hamilton on Sunday May 8. Montreal International and Toronto Inter-Roma played to a 1-1 tie in front of 2,000 fans in Montreal. In Hamilton Toronto Italia defeated Primo Hamilton.
After this season the league folded. Toronto Italia Falcons joined the National Professional Soccer League. Toronto Inter-Roma and Hamilton Primos joined the semi-professional National Soccer League for the 1967 NSL season.
