Bio:
Ray started his career with Sliema Wanderers in Malta. Emigrated from Malta to Canada in 1954.
First joined Polish White Eagles in Toronto, then transferred to Toronto Hungaria in May 1955.
Joined Metro Soccer League club Malta United before the start of the 1956 season. Helped Malta United earn promotion to the National Soccer League. Also won the Tom Holland Trophy as the Metro League player of the year.
In 1957, Malta’s first season in the National Soccer League, Ray was picked as the NSL’s Most Valuable Player.
Ray returned to Malta and rejoined Sliema Wanderers in March 1958.In July 1960 Ray went back to Canada and joined National Soccer League club Toronto Sparta.
Before the start of the 1961 NSL season Sparta changed its name to Toronto Roma. In 1962 Roma joined the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. Ray was 26 yeas old when he played for Toronto Roma in 1962.
Transferred to Toronto Ukrainia in September 1962. Returned to Toronto Roma before the start of the 1963 ECPSL season.
Traded to Toronto City in June 1963 for Alan Harvey. Struggled with a leg injury and missed much of the 1963 season.
On 26 May 1964 Ray was transferred from Toronto City to Hamilton Steelers.
In 1965 Ray moved to Montreal and joined Verdun Celtic.
Moved back by his firm to Toronto in 1966 and joined T & D League club Melita.
Coach of the Ontario Under-17 team in 1976.
