Bio:

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, of Ukrainian descent, his father being Ukrainian and his mother Spanish. After playing in the Argentinian First Division he joined American Soccer League club Philadelphia Ukrainian-Nationals in November 1960.

In July 1962 he was loaned out to Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League club Toronto Roma.

Won four American Soccer League championships and four U.S. Open Cup titles with the Ukrainian-Nationals.

Played on the 1964 United States national team against England on May 27, 1964.

In August 1966 John joined Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League club Toronto Inter-Roma on loan.

After playing for ASL club Newark Ukrainian-Sitch John joined National Professional Soccer League club Philadelphia Spartans in February 1967. Ran a dental technichian business in Philly.

Toured the Caribbean with the Philadelphia Ukrainian-Nationals in November 1967.

With the demise of the Philadelphia Spartans after the 1967 NPSL season he was transferred to North American Soccer League club Cleveland Stokers in January 1968. Signed a one-year contract.

Joined North American Soccer League club Baltimore Bays in May 1969. First-team NASL All-Star in 1969.

Agreed terms with American Soccer League club Philadelphia Spartans on Thursday June 11, 1970. Made his debut against Syracuse Scorpions on June 14, 1970. Retired from active soccer after the 1970 season.

Inducted into the Ukrainian Sports Museum and Hall of Fame in 2017.

Spoke Ukrainian, English, Spanish, and Italian.

Passed away at the age of 89 in September 2025.
