Bio:
Art Kussner was born in Germany and came to Canada with his family at the age of 12. He grew up in London, Ontario, where he attended Clarke Road High School.
As a young goalkeeper he played for Clarke Road School in the W.O.S.S.A. senior soccer league.
At the age of 18 he signed for the London German-Canadian Football Club.
Art played for Detroit club Carpathia Kickers in the 1962-63 season. He stayed with that club for two further seasons.
He then kept goal for Hamilton Primos in the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League in the 1965 and 1966 seasons as an amateur.
The former University of Windsor student joined Essex-Kent Soccer League Windsor Canadian-Anglo in May 1967.
Art was picked for the Canadian National Team that played in the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in July 1967.
In the 1969 and 1970 seasons he played for Windsor Teutonia in the Essex-Kent Soccer League’s First Division.
